For my film I watched the movie Argo starring Ben Affleck. This was a true story based on the events of how six Americans were trapped in Iran after being attacked by the Iranian Militia for spying. The movie is all about how they need to get the Americans out of Iran safely without the militia knowing that it's the Americans otherwise they are going to kill them and it will start a war with Iran and America. The movie wasn't just about how it was getting them out it was also showing the relationship between America and Iran at the time and I guess still in today's society. I liked this movie a lot because it was very thrilling and the plot was dynamic. The thrill really kept me sucked into the movie and kept me at the edge of my seat while learning the events that happened. I think that my personal biases of the film would be the relationship of America and Iran along with how we see each other as a country. I see Iran as an enemy and they are spying on them in order to keep America safe in case they plan to either attack us and see what life is like in Iran. I see Iran as a very violent place were militias run free and terrorize the people of the country showing their dominance. This movie shows that in the same way that I recognize it as. I also think that they hold back on the violence a little bit because they aren't trying to get the point of how violent across it is in Iran but the fact that it is violent and to help the plot of the story, I thought it was a very good movie and I recommend it to anyone that likes thrilling history.

Fruitvale Station
This was a film about the life of man named Oscar Grant who was a normal African American living in the Bay Area. He had troubles in his past with drugs, crime, and cheating on his girlfriend. He wasn't the perfect man, but he had a good heart to try and fix himself along with his life and family. His mother was always looking out for him and tried to keep him safe. When he went out for New Year's Eve he ran into a guy he had beef with in jail, got into a fight on the metro and the cops were called. The cops were called and they were mistreated and the cop ended up killing Oscar because he couldn't do what the officer was telling him to do because of another officer. I think this movie was trying to show how people still mistreat the Blacks because of their race. In my opinion i thought the movie was pretty good. It was a good movie showing how people are still racist today even though they say racism isn't a big deal anymore. A normal guy trying to live his life, fix himself, and provide for his family gets mistreated and shot because of his race. I think that in this country today racism definitely isn't dead, and it is still used by officers who abuse their power. This doesn't just go for the African American race but for a lot of other immigrants as well. You see it all the time in the media whether it's on the news or it's on show that uses dark humor to make fun of how it is still all too real in our society. It's a good message for anyone who watches this film to see the actual footage of how the police acted in the situation considering it was based on a true story.
